Road Pulverization, removed 7" of pulverized material and stock piled. Soil Stabilzation of Sub Grade and Sub Base. 4" of the pulverized stock pile was placed on the Stabilized Treated layer with a final cap of 3" HMA.
Soil Stabilization
Using on-site materials reduces project time-lines and minimizes transport expenses!
Soil Stabilziation is the alteration of soil properties to improve physical strength and durability to meet an engineering purpose. Stabilization can result in shear strength increase of a soil as well as control the shrink-swell attributes of a soil. Lime used as a stabilization method provides improved workability, cost effective design alternatives, reduced maintenance, and an excellent choice for reclamation of roadbases. End results are surpassed load bearing capacities for sub-grade support.
Full Depth Reclamation
Save Time, Money, and the Environment on Paving Projects!
Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) is a recycling process that uniformly blends a pulverized existing pavement surface and base material to produce a new base. The new base is known as Surface Base Coat (SBC) and will serve as the base for the new asphalt or concrete surface. The new recycled base by it's components is stronger, more uniform, and more moisture resistant than a base of prior design. Cost savings are experienced througout the FDR process with no need for the transport of aggregate in or material out for disposal, long and low maintenance life expectancy, and importantly, recycling costs are normally 25 to 50% less than surface removal and replacement.
